Movie Review: Looper (2012) · 8:09pm Jul 28th, 2020

I'd heard good things about Looper from a few different people, all of whom were pretty tough critics on movies. Directed by and written by Rian Johnson, this 2012 science-fiction/action story starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis and Emily Blunt was praised for being very smartly constructed and tightly put together. I'd never heard of it (or its director either) prior to Rian Johnson's infamously controversial, fanbase-shattering The Last Jedi, but after having seen and

Movie Review: Knives Out (2019) · 11:31pm Apr 2nd, 2020

Oh, Rian Johnson. Love him or hate him, he's been a polarizing figure ever since the release of The Last Jedi. And, while I have no wish to get bogged down in a big long debate about the merits or lack thereof in his contribution to the Star Wars universe, I was both curious and cautious in equal measure to hear the news of his next big movie project: a murder mystery in the vein of the old Agatha Christie novels, with a gentleman detective, a great big house and a whole cast of

End of Brexit Season 2 · 9:34am Oct 18th, 2019

Once again the UK is just weeks from crashing out of the European Union. Back in March, we took to the streets and it ended up being postponed and Theresa May was defeated. Now we have an even bigger villain of a Prime Minister with an even more evil plan, while the opposition parties squabble with each other instead of working together.

Rainbow Roadtrip, mid-Season 9 special
Remember Student Counsel, and how Trixie was flipping out at Starlight? How Trixie was talking about the difference between buying a cake and making one, and we were all impressed at how funny they made it? Rainbow Roadtrip was like that, except if they were unable to make the mundane funny. For half and hour. I just stopped watching. Around the time RD meets her fanclub.

The votes are in and we've got a new Prime Minister in the UK... · 3:26pm Jul 24th, 2019

So, not one for politics, but it was announced yesterday that Boris Johnson has been elected as the next Prime Minister for our country in regards to Brexit. He's supposed to be officially taking the position this afternoon.

Not saying I don't like the guy, he's a laid back and free dude, but...let's just say that Boris tends to go a bit off the rails here and there in the responsibility sense, especially in times when it's not needed.

Respect Everbody's Reasons · 3:12am Sep 24th, 2016

I personally have nothing against people who are voting for whoever they want to vote for in this election. I know people have their various reasons for voting for Trump, Stein, Clinton, Johnson, or anybody who is going to be on the ballot this year. America is all about the freedom to choose and everybody has a right to pick who they want as the leader of our nation.

Scott Cooper's slow burn character study of infamous Boston mobster James "Whitey" Bulger is a showcase for a truly transformative performance by Johnny Depp, and while slow moving, is still an effective and engrossing portrait of Bulger.

---Season 9--Episode 9---
This episode felt like it was trying to do for dragons and Garble what “Lost Treasure of Griffinstone” did for griffins and Gilda. There are a few issues with that concept on paper. (This is credited to Kim Beyer-Johnson, the person behind Non-Compete Clause. While episodes aren't really written by only one or two people, I still felt like we'd dodged a bullet. This just being an OK episode overall is fine).

Episode Review: "Sweet and Smoky" - Season 9 Episode 9 · 7:43pm May 28th, 2019

This episode features a return to the dragon lands; though its popped up occasionally in episodes like Shadow Play, this is the first time its truly been a vital backdrop since Gauntlet of Fire, 3 seasons prior. Neither that episode nor Dragon Quest are well-regarded by fans, but I actually quite like them both (in particular, I've never really understood the hate Dragon Quest sometimes receives; it's no Spike at Your Service, let alone a Princess Spike). So this episode has that to make me

July's End Special · 4:20am Jul 29th, 2021

As you may know by now, this month is fast approaching its closure and along with it the end of summer; while this is nothing new so to speak of, what's not is the fact that I've started up a PayPal account late last year following my father's hospitalization due to an overdose: thankfully, he's still doing great as of yet. Either way, I can see that no new contributions have been made since the last blog post, even with everything that has been said and done no less; although I can understand
